August 12, 2013The catastrophic BP Macondo blowout three years ago revealed the dangers of deepwater drilling in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, where critical equipment can be located a mile underwater. But the last two gulf blowouts happened in shallow water, where drilling is considered much safer. After Macondo, President Obama appointed Michael Bromwich to help reorganize the former U.S. Minerals Management Service and rewrite offshore-drilling rules. Bromwich, now managing principal of The Bromwich Group, will highlight new developments.
